Joe Bugner, a former heavyweight boxer who fought Muhammad Ali twice in his career, has died.

Bugner was 75 years old.

“It is with great sadness that the Former British, European Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion and World Championship contender Joe Bugner has passed away at his care home in Brisbane, Australia,” the British Boxing Board of Control confirmed on Monday.

“The British Boxing Board of Control passes on its condolences to Joe’s family.”

Bugner was a talented boxer, but he wasn’t in the good graces of those in his native Britain after sending Henry Cooper, a boxing legend in the commonwealth, into retirement after beating him in 1971. The victory gave him the British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight titles. Bugner didn’t hold on to those belts after losing them later in 1971.

HULK HOGAN NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY WAS IN PRODUCTION BEFORE HIS DEATH; WRESTLER DID 20-PLUS HOURS OF INTERVIEWS

He went on to face off against Ali for the first time in 1973 when they entered the ring in a non-title fight in Las Vegas. Bugner was able to go the distance against the boxing icon, though Ali would get the win by points.

Just five months later, Bugner was in the ring against the legendary Joe Frazier, this time on home soil at Earl’s Court in London. Like the fight against Ali, Bugner was able to go the distance, but he came up short as Frazier won by points.

The most thrilling fight, though, came between Bugner and Ali in Kuala Lumpur in 1975, their second time fighting each other. In front of a packed-out crowd, Bugner and Ali went a full 15 rounds on the canvas, though the former came out as the loser by points once more.

Bugner fought for 32 years, ending his career in 1999 before relocating to Australia. He spent the final years of his life in an assisted living home after being diagnosed with dementia.

Bugner went 69-14 over his 83 fights, 41 of which ended inside the distance.

Bugner was a Hungary-born boxer who moved to Britain as a child refugee amid the 1956 Soviet invasion.

Although Hollywood filmmaker Woody Allen isn’t a supporter of President Donald Trump, he told comedian Bill Maher that Trump was a “pleasure to work with” on a movie set.

On the latest episode of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast posted Monday, Allen recalled directing Trump in his 1998 film “Celebrity” and praised the former president’s cameo.

“No, I’m not a Trumper. I’m one of the few people who can say he directed Trump. I directed Trump in a movie… in ‘Celebrity.’ And he was, you know, he was a pleasure to work with and a very good actor,” the 89-year-old director told Maher.

BILL MAHER SLAMS MODERN ENTERTAINERS FOR LACKING OLD-SCHOOL WORK ETHIC

Playing himself, Trump appeared in a scene with actress Judy Davis, where he discussed tearing down St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and replacing it with a “very, very tall and beautiful building.”

“He was very polite and hit his mark and did everything correctly and had a real flair for show business,” Allen recalled.

Maher joked, “How dare you?”

“Oh, if you think you were canceled before,” Maher added sarcastically, apparently referencing the sexual misconduct allegations against Allen, which Allen has denied.

CHICAGO PASTOR BLASTS DEMOCRATS FOR ‘OUTRIGHT LYING’ ABOUT CRIME, URGES TRUMP TO SEND NATIONAL GUARD

Allen quipped, “I wish I could direct him now. If he would let me direct him now that he’s president, I think I could do wonders.”

“But he was very easy to work with,” Allen continued.

Maher agreed that Trump is different when he’s not acting as a politician. Maher, who has long been one of the president’s fiercest critics, met with Trump at the White House earlier this year and spoke positively about their encounter.

“Yeah, he’s different in person, and when you say that, people who are purely emotional get very upset, even though it’s just the truth. We’re just saying the truth,” Maher told Allen.

The filmmaker emphasized that he did not vote for Trump in the last election.

“Well, you know, I’m a Democrat. I voted for Kamala Harris,” Allen said. “And I take issue with him on, you know, 95% of the things, maybe 99%.  But as an actor, he was very good. He was very convincing and very—you know, he had a charismatic quality as an actor, and I’m surprised he wanted to go into politics.”

Trump has made cameos in numerous movies, including “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” and “Zoolander.”

St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital estimates around 400,000 kids around the world will be diagnosed with cancer this year. In the U.S., research and treatments have helped increase survival rates. 80% of kids live five years or more with treatment, but a lot of work is being done to improve that statistic and find cures for more rare forms of cancer.

“Kids with brain tumors were left behind. Because the treatments are very old, they are from the 80s, believe it or not,” Fernando Goldsztein said.

Fernando’s son, Frederico, was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was nine years old.  Medulloblastoma is the most common brain tumor in children, but it is still rare. Just five out of one million kids are diagnosed with the disease each year, which has made finding funding for new research difficult.

“Unfortunately, he relapsed,” Fernando said. “I was told by the doctors back then that there was nothing to do to save my son, that I should go back to home and spend time with him.”

WOMAN BEATS DEADLY BRAIN CANCER WITH INVESTIGATIONAL CELL THERAPY: ‘TRULY AMAZING’

The five-year survival rate for medulloblastoma patients is more than 80%. But if the disease comes back, the five-year survival rate drops to less than 40%.

“When I received that devastating news five years ago, after two weeks, I kind of recovered, you never recover, right? But I kind of recovered and I said, ‘I’ve got to do something, I will do something,'” Fernando said.

CANCER DEATHS HIT ‘ALARMING’ SURGE DUE TO COMMON HEALTH CONDITION, EXPERTS SAY

Fernando has made it his mission to find a cure for Frederico, who is still dealing with recurrent medulloblastoma at the age of 18. Two years after Frederico’s cancer returned, Fernando launched the Medulloblastoma Initiative, or MBI, alongside Dr. Roger Packer, one of the world’s leading Medulloblastoma researchers at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.

“We are trying to find a cure for this disease as soon as possible. So, it’s a model that brings together the best minds in the field,” Fernando said. “MBI is all about collaboration and synergy. The scientists, to be funded by us, they have to work as a group.”

The initiative has brought together more than a dozen labs from around the world.

“By each one having each piece of the puzzle, we were able to move very fast and are achieving very interesting results,” Fernando said.

Since Fox last spoke with MBI, the group has helped fast-track at least two clinical trials at the University of Florida for medulloblastoma and several other studies are in the works.

“We have much more in our pipeline,” Fernando said. “We are excited with these results.”

INTERNATIONAL EFFORT SEEKS NEW TREATMENTS FOR PEDIATRIC HEART DISEASE

In a clinical trial funded by MBI, scientists are programming patients’ white blood cells to seek and destroy tumor cells. The results have been promising, and one participant’s cancer was nearly eliminated.

In a separate study still being tested on mice, scientists at the University of Florida are researching an experimental mRNA-based cancer vaccine. The study could lead to a universal shot that helps jump-start a patient’s immune system when fighting cancer.

100% of the donations given to MBI go to supporting research and clinical trials to help kids like Frederico. Fernando says his son is doing well thanks to much of the new research being done.

“He is an outlier, but we know that this type of tumor comes back, so it’s running against time. And that’s why we are moving fast to save him and to save thousands of other kids out there,” Fernando said.

Cole Hauser has experienced some odd fan encounters after gaining fame as Rip Wheeler on “Yellowstone.”

“I’ve had some old women grab my a–,” Hauser, 50, told Page Six.

“It’s been a little bit … a little bit strange,” he explained. “But for the most part of it, everyone’s been very respectful. But I think when the older ladies get a few drinks in them, they get a little aggressive.”

While “Yellowstone” shot Hauser into mainstream success, the actor first appeared in movies such as “Good Will Hunting” and “Dazed and Confused.”

‘YELLOWSTONE’ SPIN-OFF RUMORS SWIRL: WILD THEORIES, DREAM CASTING AND WHAT’S REALLY TRUE

Hauser will be returning to the “Yellowstone” universe after the original series ended with season five.

Fox News Digital confirmed that Hauser and Kelly Reilly will be reprising their roles as Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton in the “Yellowstone” spin-off that has a working title of “The Dutton Ranch.”

The new series’ storyline will pick up from where the “Yellowstone” series finale left off.

A description of the show reads, “Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

Academy Award nominee, Annette Bening, will be joining the cast as Beulah Jackson, “the powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.”

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan will serve as producer on the show, alongside Reilly and Hauser.

The fifth season of “Yellowstone” saw the death of the show’s main character, John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner.

Hauser previously gave fans a hint at the “Yellowstone” spin-off while finishing up filming for the original show.

“I’m so focused on finishing ‘Yellowstone’ the way it needs to be finished right now – well, just the show itself,” Hauser told Country Living. “We’ll see where that leads.”

“But I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself, and some of the other cast,” he added. “I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that. But right now, it’s just: Let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”

Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback Matthew Stafford should be set for Sunday’s home opener against the Houston Texans, according to head coach Sean McVay.

There had been questions about Stafford’s health throughout the offseason, as a back ailment had him starting off slower than the rest of his Rams teammates. But McVay expects Stafford, as well as left tackle Alaric Jackson, to be available for Week 1.

Stafford missed all of training camp due to an aggravated disc in his back.

He received an epidural injection to alleviate the pain, and he wasn’t a full practice participant until Aug. 18.

But since he’s returned, Stafford hasn’t had any setbacks, which has his head coach feeling confident in the 37-year-old’s abilities going up against a tough Texans squad to kick off the new season.

McVay hasn’t been as concerned as fans, though, throughout this Stafford situation.

RAMS’ MATTHEW STAFFORD RETURNS TO PRACTICE AFTER MISSING TIME DUE TO BACK INJURY

“I thought he did a good job today,” McVay told reporters on Aug. 18. “We had 26 plays of team, and he did a really nice job of managing the huddle. I thought he saw the field well. I thought he went where the ball should go, and there was some good competitive work on both sides today.”

The Rams have been taking things cautiously with the former No. 1 overall pick out of Georgia, saying at the time the situation was “very fluid” because they didn’t want to say for certain that he would be available Week 1.

Now that the season is about to begin, McVay made that designation and the Rams are ready to roll.

Los Angeles is hoping to defend its NFC West title from a year ago, edging out the Seattle Seahawks by a tiebreak despite both having a 10-7 record at the end of the regular season.

A key to doing so is having a healthy Stafford under center throughout the season. McVay and the rest of the Rams understand how important Stafford’s performance is to their Super Bowl hopes.

Stafford threw for 3,762 yards with 20 touchdowns to eight interceptions over 16 games last season. He owned a 65.8% completion rate in his 16th NFL season.

While his main target, Puka Nacua, remains in his huddle, there’s a new look at wide receiver as Davante Adams fills the void left by Cooper Kupp, who was traded to the rival Seahawks this offseason.

Stafford’s backup this season is Jimmy Garoppolo, who would replace him in a time of need for McVay.

Former Obama advisor Van Jones has had it with employees bringing their politics to work, saying it has gotten “ridiculous” and it is time to “move on.”

Multiple companies have turned against activism in the workplace, a remarkable shift from the early 2020s when DEI, social responsibility and corporate-sponsored activism were ubiquitous.

“For some companies, the new message to employees is ‘Check your politics and your activism at the door when you come to work,’” CNN host Abby Phillip told her panel Saturday. “CEOs are making one thing clear, ‘The office is not the public square,’ and they‘re probably not wrong about that.”

Phillip added that politics has seeped into nearly every corner of society in recent years, “And it‘s not to say that you can‘t have free speech in your life, but employers are just like, ‘Do your job and don‘t do anything else.’”

Jones, who has had a lengthy history of progressive activism himself, agreed. While once sympathetic to the mindset of such activists, he said their time has passed.

“This is not going to make me popular, but I’m not mad [about the change], because it got ridiculous,” he said. “I mean, I‘m an employer and at a certain point, your Slack channel just turns into Vietnam every other day because something happened that had nothing to do with the workplace.”

He noted the headache of having to bring in counselors for such moments of crisis, saying, “This is not camp, guys, we’re trying to make money.”

“So, I enjoyed the moment, for a while, where we were having our reckonings about everything. We done wrecked, okay?” he said, sparking laughter. “We went from reckoning to wrecked. We need to move on.”

“I take a similar approach,” CNN global affairs commentator Sabrina Singh replied. “I think what you do in your own free time, whether you want to participate in political activism or whatever it is, whatever cause you take up, I think you have to do that on your own time.”

Phillip recalled working on a book about activist Jesse Jackson, noting how he once pressured companies from the outside to adopt more progressive policies. Years later, she said, public perception shifted after a flood of corporate PR statements — so much so that “people may have gotten fooled that these corporations were doing anything other than what they needed to do to survive.”

Republican strategist Lance Trover noted the historic moment of bipartisan agreement on the show.

“You need to mark this moment in this show down,” he said. “This may be where we all agree here at this table, here tonight. I mean, yeah, ‘Welcome to the real world, Gen-Z wokesters.’ I don‘t know what to tell you.”

Micah Parsons’ back issue might be something after all.

While some viewed his “back tightness” designation at Dallas Cowboys camp as a way to mask the fact he didn’t have his desired long-term contract extension, the newest Green Bay Packers edge rusher reportedly might need an epidural to play this Sunday in his team debut against the Detroit Lions.

Parsons is reportedly dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back, per ESPN, which could require an injection to play.

The report adds that Parsons was prescribed a “five-day course of prednisone,” which is an anti-inflammatory agent used to help with back tightness. He was also on a physical therapy program with the Cowboys until he was dealt this past Thursday for two first-round picks and All-Pro defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Parsons, though, was seen at Packers practice on Monday, which was his first time participating anywhere this preseason after sitting out during his contract saga in Dallas.

Parsons was considered a limited participant.

DAK PRESCOTT REACTS TO MICAH PARSONS TRADE TO PACKERS: ‘I WASN’T SURPRISED’

So, given Parsons’ status, it’s not entirely certain he will be available for his new team to start the 2025 NFL season.

The Packers swooped in with an offer Cowboys owner Jerry Jones liked, and they got the deal that shocked the football world done on Thursday morning. While Jones defended trading away the four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro edge rusher, the Packers made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history with a four-year, $188 million contract.

Parsons’ $47 million per year on that deal blows the previous league-record deals given to Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett ($40 million) and Pittsburgh Steelers stud T.J. Watt ($41 million) earlier this offseason.

Parsons’ arrival in Green Bay has his new teammates giddy to see what he can add to their defense. Left tackle Rasheed Walker, who was a Penn State teammate of Parsons during their college days, even believes the move has them Super Bowl bound.

“I think it upped our chances by a lot,” he said Monday, per ESPN. “We got a solid pass rush across the whole line. I don’t think no one’s gonna be able to throw the ball like that on us. It’s gonna open up opportunities for our DBs and our offense, so yeah, I feel like Micah’s gonna have a good presence on the field and it’s gonna really be advantageous to us.”

The key is having Parsons available on the field. It’s early in the first game week of the season, but Parsons’ situation is worth monitoring as the week gets closer to the weekend and a highly anticipated debut for the newest Packers star.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Monday accused the United States of seeking a regime change in his country amid a naval buildup in the Caribbean.

The military deployment was authorized by President Donald Trump in an effort to disrupt drug cartel activity, as part of his broader border policy. However, Maduro said the buildup is an intervention in his country’s affairs.

“They are seeking a regime change through military threat,” Maduro told journalists, officials, and uniformed military brass in Caracas, echoing comments last week by his government’s representative at the United Nations.

CHINA CONDEMNS US MILITARY BUILDUP OFF VENEZUELA COAST AS FOREIGN INTERFERENCE IN REGIONAL AFFAIRS

“Venezuela is confronting the biggest threat that has been seen on our continent in the last 100 years,” Maduro added. “A situation like this has never been seen.”

Maduro said Venezuela won’t bow to threats and that it was “super-prepared.”

The Trump administration has accused Maduro of engaging in drug trafficking, going so far as to announce a $50 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

U.S. WARSHIPS TO PATROL INTERNATIONAL WATERS AROUND VENEZUELA AS TRUMP VOWS TO STOP CARTELS

“These cartels have engaged in historic violence and terror throughout our hemisphere—and around the globe—that has destabilized the economies and internal security of countries, while also flooding the United States with deadly drugs, violent criminals, and vicious gangs,” Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said during an Aug. 19 news conference.

“This requires a whole-of-government effort, and through coordination with regional partners, the Department of Defense will undoubtedly play an important role in meeting the President’s objective to eliminate the ability of these cartels to threaten the territory, safety, and security of the United States and its people,” Parnell added. “As a matter of security and policy, we do not speculate on future operations.”

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will award former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“As President of the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that Rudy Giuliani, the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot, will receive THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, our Country’s highest civilian honor,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Details as to time and place to follow. The announcement comes a day after Giuliani was seriously injured in a car crash in New Hampshire.

Although rumors circulated that the former mayor was hurt in a targeted attack, his spokesman said Giuliani had pulled over after being flagged down by a woman who was fleeing domestic violence and needed help calling 911.

After officers arrived, Giuliani left in his rental car, which was later struck from behind at high speed on the highway.

Giuliani was hospitalized with multiple injuries, including “a fractured thoracic vertebrae,” multiple lacerations and contusions and injuries to his left arm and lower leg, Michael Ragusa, spokesman and head of security for Giuliani, said in a statement on Sunday.

Ragusa gave an update on Giuliani’s condition to Fox News Digital on Monday.

“Mayor Giuliani’s condition continues to improve, and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital within the next few days,” Ragusa said in a statement. “This is a man who survived 9/11—so a little car accident won’t be slowing him down. He is eager to return to business and continue fighting for this country, as he has proudly done for the past 50 years.”

Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team in 2018, representing the president during the Robert Mueller inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
