Fifth suspect arrested in viral Cincinnati beatdown as victim details her 'ongoing battle'
A fifth person has been arrested in the violent Cincinnati beatdown that happened on July 26.
38-year-old Patrick Rosemond was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, and charged with two counts of felonious assault and aggravated riot, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. The other suspects arrested in connection with the incident are Dominique Kittle, Jermaine Matthews, Montianez Merriweather and Dekyra Vernon. Matthews posted bond last week.
The FBI and Atlanta Metropolitan Major Offender’s Task Force took Rosemond into custody. He will go through the extradition process before returning to Cincinnati, police said.
The beatdown happened between Elm and Fourth Streets, with videos of the incident going viral on social media. The videos show two people being attacked, which included a woman who was left unconscious after being punched and kicked several times.

One of the victims, identified as Holly, made a video update on her condition.
“It’s been very, very hard, and I’m still recovering,” Holly said in a video posted online. “I still have very bad brain trauma.”

Holly said in a new video posted online by Benny Johnson that she is getting medical attention and thanked Americans for donating to a fundraiser aimed at supporting her.
“Thank you for helping me get the medical attention I need and making sure I’m not homeless because I can’t work until I get better,” Holly said. “Each day, I’m feeling a little bit better and better.”
She said externally, her injuries are healing but, “internally there is a lot of damage that has been done. I’ve been in and out of hospitals and specialists, and it’s going to be an ongoing battle for a very long time.”
Out of the approximately 100 people who saw the fight, only one called 911, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said.
“Trust me when I say this, had the Cincinnati Police Department been notified in real time, our officers would have responded with urgency and force to protect life,” Theetge said.

Robertson announced her third pregnancy with an adorable carousel of black-and-white family snaps shared on Instagram earlier this year. “Our hearts are so full. Another little love joining the Huff family.”
Robertson’s oldest daughter had been telling friends Sadie was pregnant with a baby boy even though she wasn’t yet with child, she said on her podcast.
“Later on, actually I did find out I was pregnant, which was such a shock, but great shock — we were totally surprised,” Robertson said on her “Whoa That’s Good” podcast.
“And so, this season of our life has been so crazy and so full, with filming and all the things that come with that, and that wasn’t necessarily our timeline or our plan that we thought were gonna have a baby.”
A&E announced earlier this year that the hit show would be revived eight years after it aired its final episode. “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” focuses on the late Phil Robertson’s son, Willie, his wife, Korie, their adult children, John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella and Rebecca, and their grandchildren, according to a synopsis.
The original “Duck Dynasty” aired for 11 seasons from 2012-17. Per A&E, the show peaked at 11.8 million viewers.

Fugitive knocks down officer during dramatic arrest after 2-year manhunt in Florida
A Florida convicted felon on the run for over two years on an attempted first-degree murder charge was arrested on Saturday after knocking down a police officer while trying to flee.
The Winter Haven Public Safety Department said 27-year-old D’Architray L. Sapp was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, along with charges for three warrants, including attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Officers responded to an apartment complex at about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report that someone was at the location with a warrant.
When the officers arrived, they located Sapp, who allegedly ran into an apartment after seeing the officers.
Once the officers confirmed Sapp was inside the apartment, they took steps to evacuate the innocent occupants from inside. Sapp also left the apartment, and officers attempted to place him in handcuffs.
Police said Sapp yanked his arms from behind his body to the front and took off. As he ran away, he allegedly ran into a female officer on purpose, shoving her with his shoulder and knocking her to the ground.
Sapp continued to flee from the police despite officers commanding him to stop. At one point, two officers deployed their agency-issued electronic stun guns.

Both officers successfully struck Sapp, police said, and he was taken into custody.
Police noted that the officer who was knocked to the ground was not injured. Sapp, on the other hand, was taken to an area hospital where he was medically cleared following the electric stun gun deployment.
He was then transported to the Polk County Jail where he was processed.

Sapp was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence.
He was also charged with the three warrants, which were for attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing to elude, giving false information to a law enforcement officer, driving with a suspended license and criminal mischief.
“I am thankful that our officers were not injured during the encounter with this violent felon”, Police Chief Vance Monroe said. “Our officers did an outstanding job ensuring Sapp was taken off the street and put behind bars where he belongs.”

“Anti-ageing [sic], good for digestion and gut, helps my joints after workouts, better sleep… this has been game changing for me,” she wrote.
More recently, the actress shared her tips to staying fit when she spoke with Fox News Digital in November 2024. She explained that she focuses on eating a lot of protein throughout the day and advised it’s best to get most of “your carbs in night.”

Charlamagne fires back after Trump's social media attack calls him a 'racist sleazebag'
“The Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God doubled down on his criticism of President Donald Trump’s second term on Monday after Trump lashed out at the radio host in a fiery social media post.
During a wide-ranging interview Saturday on “My View with Lara Trump,” Charlamagne claimed that President Trump hadn’t delivered on his key campaign promises, such as improving the economy for the people who needed it the most.
“I wouldn’t give it a good rating, simply because the least of us are still being impacted by the worst,” he said of Trump’s second term. He argued that the poorest Americans would be hurt by Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” because of its reforms to programs like Medicaid.
Trump responded by calling Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” in a scathing Truth Social post on Sunday.
CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD NAMES SURPRISING 2028 PRESIDENTIAL SUGGESTION
“He’s a low-IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth and knows nothing about me or what I have done,” Trump wrote in the post, defending his record on the economy, the border, and foreign policy.
The feud continued Monday after Charlamagne responded to Trump on “The Breakfast Club.”
He laughed off the personal insults about his intelligence and joked that some people might agree that he’s a “sleazebag.”
“I looked up the definition of sleazebag, says it’s ‘a disgusting or despicable person.’ Depending on who you ask, that may apply to me,” Charlamagne remarked. “I personally prefer friendly, neighborhood a-hole.”
CHARLAMAGNE SUGGESTS BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL IS SIGN THAT MIDTERMS AND 2028 ELECTION WILL BE ‘FIXED’
But he rebutted the president’s “racist” claim.
“He called me a racist,” Charlamagne said in disbelief. “I didn’t mention race, not one time on Lara Trump!”
The radio host suggested it was ironic for Trump to call him this while his administration was tackling diversity and civil rights programs.
“I didn’t bring up the fact that President Trump issued an executive order directing oversight of institutions like the Smithsonian to remove or suppress narratives about systemic racism in Black history,” he said.
“They want to reframe cultural memory to eliminate discussions of historical racial injustice. That, along with determination of diversity and civil rights programs, are considered very racist by a lot of civil rights advocates. I didn’t even bring that up, okay? I was just talking to your base, letting your base know that you haven’t kept the promises you made in regards to the economy,” he continued.

Afterward, Charlamagne emphasized that he was “rooting” for Trump to succeed, so America could succeed.
“Believe it or not, I’m rooting for you, but I need you focused and, right now, you’re not focused. Ok? We need you focused on two things: the economy and [Jeffrey] Epstein. I need you to keep the promises of a great economy and the promises of transparency with the Epstein files,” he said.

Texas Dems also skipped town in 2021 to avoid a vote, and several caught COVID-19 in DC
Texas House Democrats departed the state Sunday in an attempt to halt a redistricting Monday vote, claiming that the legislation is “using an intentionally racist map” to undermine the voices of Black and Latino voters in the state of Texas.
Democrats’ absence means that Republicans are unable to go ahead with a scheduled vote under House rules, blocking the potential passage of redistricting legislation that would establish a new congressional map that could lead to five new GOP U.S. House seats in the 2026 midterm elections.
“This is not a decision we make lightly, but it is one we make with absolute moral clarity,” state Rep. Gene Wu, the chair of the House Democratic Caucus, said in a statement Sunday.
TEXAS DEMOCRATS FLEE STATE TO BLOCK TRUMP-BACKED REDISTRICTING VOTE IN DRAMATIC LEGISLATIVE MOVE
Most of the House Democrats fled to Chicago, while others headed to New York and Boston.
The Texas House stipulates that at least 100 members of the 150-member chamber must be present to conduct business, and roughly 50 Democrats are absent — meaning the vote is stalled until they return. It’s unclear how Democrats plan to proceed, and Wu told reporters that precise plans were still up in the air.
The redistricting legislation would shift Democrat voters from toss-up districts into ones that are more solidly Republican, and also move other Republican voters into districts that lean more toward Democrats — ultimately paving the way for more GOP seats.
This isn’t the first time Democrats have fled the state in protest of legislation.
In July 2021, more than 50 Democrats also left the state of Texas and headed to Washington, D.C., to tie up Texas legislation that would implement new voting restrictions in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s loss of the 2020 election, which some Republicans claimed was “stolen.”
Specifically, the measure Democrats opposed included new voter ID restrictions for those voting by mail and prohibited drive-by voting and extended voting hours. Likewise, the measure included new limitations for those who work at the polls, and barred local election officials from distributing a mail-in ballot to anyone who hadn’t officially requested one.
Democrats ultimately returned to Texas weeks later, after multiple members caught COVID-19 while in D.C., and House Republicans finally passed the measure in August 2021 before Texas’ Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed it into law in September 2021.
TRUMP, REPUBLICANS RACE TO REDRAW TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL MAP AS DEMOCRATS THREATEN LEGAL WAR
Meanwhile, Abbott threatened to arrest the Democrats who departed the state Sunday, should they not be back by 3 p.m. Monday when the Texas House reconvenes. Even so, there is no indication of when the Democrats plan to return to Texas.
“Rather than doing their job and voting on urgent legislation affecting the lives of all Texans, they have fled Texas to deprive the House of the quorum necessary to meet and conduct business,” Abbot said in a statement late Sunday.
The Texas Democrats have attracted support from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who labeled the Democrats’ decision to flee Texas a “righteous act of courage,” and accused Republicans of attempting to silence “millions of voices, especially Black and Latino voters.”
“Texas Democrats were left with no choice but to leave their home state, block a vote from taking place and protect their constituents,” Pritzker said in a news conference Sunday.

Savannah Chrisley slams 'vile' messages she's received since Trump pardoned her parents
Savannah Chrisley isn’t staying quiet about the hate she’s received online.
The reality TV star took to Instagram to share messages she’s been sent on social media after President Donald Trump pardoned her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley.
“Imagine saying such vile things to someone…” she wrote on Instagram stories while showing a screenshot of the messages.
“disgusting maga pig,” a user wrote to Savannah. “not having to work for anything in your life is crazyyyyy.”
TODD AND JULIE CHRISLEY’S CHILDREN ACCUSE FAMILY MEMBERS OF BETRAYAL, ‘LOSE OUR LAST NAME’
Although Savannah has never mentioned anything about a pregnancy, the user also wrote: “hopefully you miscarry.”
Todd and Julie were both pardoned by President Donald Trump in May after being convicted on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion. They were sentenced to a combined 19 years behind bars. The “Chrisley Knows Best” stars walked out of prison after serving two and a half years.
Savannah claimed Trump’s pardon “literally came out of nowhere” while speaking to reporters on May 28.
“I was in such shock and awe that the president himself took the time to tell me my family is coming back together,” she said.

In the first trailer for “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” Todd and Julie’s children were seen accusing their “own family members” of betrayal related to the 2022 conviction of the couple on bank fraud and tax evasion charges.
“The prosecutor read the letter Lindsie wrote to the FBI. We’re no longer family. Lose our last name,” Savannah said to the camera.
“I mean, your blood will screw you over, then a stranger definitely will,” Grayson Chrisley added.

Cameras have been filming the Chrisley family for the past three years as the story of their time behind bars unfolded.
“Our household is completely divided. I told my parents I don’t know if it can ever be repaired,” Savannah said in the trailer. “Honestly.”
“I want people to know what actually went down with my family,” Chase Chrisley said. “There’s a score to be settled.”
The family’s feud involving Lindsie first began in 2012, with Todd and Julie’s daughter completely leaving “Chrisley Knows Best” in 2017. Lindsie has been outspoken about the damage the Chrisley name has brought to her over the years.
According to People magazine, Lindsie touched on her ongoing estrangement with the couple on an episode of “Southern Tea” back in March.
“The last time I visited my dad probably was… Was it the beginning of last year? I can’t even honestly remember,” Lindsie admitted.
“[Nanny Faye and I] used to go together when they first went [to prison],” she said. “… I have never been to Lexington to visit Julie.”
“I have not seen my dad in quite some time, and I have had no contact,” said Lindsie. “And that’s all I’m going to say for that.”

Jim Acosta 'interviews' AI-generated avatar of deceased teenager promoting gun control message
Liberal journalist Jim Acosta “interviewed” the artificially animated avatar of deceased teenager Joaquin Oliver to promote a gun control message on Monday.
Working with the gun control group Change the Ref, founded by Oliver’s parents, Acosta had conversation on his Substack with an avatar created by the father of the son, who was killed in the Parkland high school shooting in 2018. He would have turned 25 on Monday.
“I would like to know what your solution would be for gun violence,” Acosta asked.
“Great question. I believe in a mix of stronger gun control laws, mental health support, and community engagement. We need to create safe spaces for conversations and connections, making sure everyone feels seen and heard,” Oliver’s avatar said. “It’s about building a culture of kindness and understanding. What do you think of that?”
“I think that’s a great idea, Joaquin,” the ex-CNN correspondent said.
Acosta also asked questions like what Oliver’s favorite team, movies and TV shows were. The avatar answered and often asked Acosta the question back, sometimes sounding robotic, sometimes highly enthusiastic.
“Star Wars is such an epic saga. The adventures, the characters and that iconic music are unforgettable,” Oliver’s avatar said at one point.
As the two talked, Acosta’s Substack live chat was littered with messages commenting on the unusual scene, with some calling it “creepy,” “weird,” and “unsettling,” while others found it an interesting and even touching experiment.
FOX NEWS AI NEWSLETTER: TRUMP CABINET OFFICIAL IMPERSONATED
Afterward, Acosta spoke to Oliver’s father, Manuel, who thanked him for his participation in the interview. Acosta marveled at the avatar being able to engage with him, saying he was “speechless” at the technology and really felt he was speaking with the actual person.
“I understand that this is AI,” Manuel Oliver said, saying he wasn’t trying to truly bring his son back. “Sadly, I can’t. However, the technology is out there. I can hear his voice again.”
“He’s a symbol of something that is deeply, deeply wrong with this country,” Acosta later said, referring to gun violence that’s killed youths like Oliver. “People give up, and I think something like this is maybe going to give some people some hope, that we should keep charging, keep pushing for this.”
After the interview, Acosta said Oliver should still be here today.
“Yes, I know that it might be a little startling to see one of these young people, a child like Joaquin, come back to us in this fashion, in the form of artificial intelligence, but please understand after watching this that this AI experiment is an expression of love from the Oliver family for their son,” he said.
EX-LIBERAL CABLE STARS JIM ACOSTA, JOY REID FLOAT 2026 MIDTERM CONSPIRACIES ABOUT TRUMP
Oliver’s likeness had been generated by his father using AI before. One example was in 2024, when an AI-generated message of his voice was used to call members of Congress to push voting for gun control measures.
“It’s been six years, and you’ve done nothing, not a thing to stop all the shootings that have continued to happen since,” the message said. “I died that day in Parkland, my body was destroyed by a weapon of war.”
Change the Ref didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Acosta left CNN in January and launched his own Substack in February. He regularly interviews progressive guests and remains a harsh critic of Republicans and the Trump administration.

EXCLUSIVE: Biden failed to stop China's toxic nicotine invasion — and your kids paid the price, expert warns
EXCLUSIVE: Chinese-made nicotine and electronic cigarette products illegally flooded U.S. markets under former President Joe Biden, endangering both adults and children and posing an “urgent threat to U.S. sovereignty, public health, and law enforcement capacity,” according to nicotine awareness activist and former GOP senator Richard Burr.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Burr, who is chair of the Coalition for Smarter Regulation of Nicotine, said that even as the Biden administration cracked down on “reputable” companies like Juul, it took no action to control the flow of off-brand competitor products, most of which were manufactured and exported to the U.S. by Chinese companies through the open borders.
“There was not a policy in the Biden administration to enforce the law at the border. And that’s where the growth really came from,” he explained, adding, “They not only didn’t speak out against them, but they didn’t make any attempt, any attempt, at enforcement.”
According to Burr, Biden’s director of the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products (CTP), Brian King, bears special blame for overseeing an agency so crippled by inaction that, Burr said, “most of the products that are on the marketplace today not only are illegal, they have never even attempted to go through an application process at the FDA.”
However, a spokesperson for King vehemently denied Burr’s assertions, telling Fox News Digital that “the claim that there was no attempt at enforcement is not consistent with the facts.”
KAMALA HARRIS BACK IN NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT AS JAMES COMER FLOATS SUBPOENA IN BIDEN ‘COVER-UP’ PROBE
Burr said that currently approximately 85% of vapor and e-cigarette products sold in the U.S. are either illicit or unauthorized due to the Biden FDA’s failure to enforce the law.
Now, Burr is urging the Trump administration to be proactive in fixing the Chinese nicotine problem unleashed on Americans under Biden.
Burr sent a letter to Trump’s FDA commissioner, Martin Makary, as well as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, urging them to take urgent action to “restore order” to the marketplace by reforming the government’s review process of nicotine and e-cigarette products and then fully enforcing against the entities responsible for growing the illicit market.
In his letter, Burr describes the U.S. as being “in the midst of a crisis created by the free flow of illegal nicotine products into the U.S. marketplace, the majority of which are supplied by Chinese companies that are knowingly breaking U.S. laws.”
‘WAS THE PRESIDENT UP FOR THE JOB?’ STEVE RICCHETTI DEFENDS BIDEN’S FITNESS AS GOP SEEKS ANSWERS
“During the Biden Administration, illicit Chinese vaping products, without any regulatory oversight or consumer protections, began flooding our market,” Burr wrote. “Produced overseas without meeting FDA safety standards or common tobacco product manufacturing practices, these illicit vapor products are deliberately avoiding compliance with the law, and many are intentionally marketed to underage users with youth-appealing features, for example, Gummy Bear flavors and gaming device screens.”
Burr further said that manufacturers of illicit vaping products often use fraudulent shipping declarations and misclassified tariff codes to evade U.S. customs and trade laws.
“President Trump has rightfully warned that counterfeit pharmaceutical products, often linked to the People’s Republic of China, threaten the security and safety of Americans,” he wrote. “The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has the opportunity to address a similar crisis in the nicotine market by advancing a modern and common-sense approach to regulating nicotine products and effectively enforcing the Tobacco Control Act (TCA) to restore order to the marketplace.”
To this end, Burr urged the FDA to “advance a comprehensive, effective regulatory framework,” which he said consists of streamlining the FDA’s approval process for less harmful smoke-free nicotine products, providing clear regulations to the industry and enforcing the law against companies selling illicit products, providing adult smokers with accurate information on the benefits of switching from cigarettes to FDA-authorized, smoke-free products and using regulation and oversight to drive down underage use.
INSIDE THE BIDEN COVER-UP PROBE: 8 AIDES QUESTIONED, MORE ON THE WAY
Speaking with Fox News Digital, Burr said that both Kennedy and President Donald Trump “have embraced a healthier America that our kids should be eating healthier, should be actively involved, and we should make sure that anything that’s detrimental to their ability to grow and to grow up healthy should be constricted significantly.”
“This is at the heart of that,” he said.
In response, a spokesperson speaking on behalf of King told Fox News Digital that “the claim that there was no attempt at enforcement is not consistent with the facts.”
They listed 30 different enforcement actions the agency took under King’s tenure in 2023 and 2024, ranging from sending warning letters to potential violators to denying marketing requests to manufacturers not in compliance.
“Within the past few years, the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products took many first-time compliance and enforcement actions, including setting up a joint interagency task force and conducting multiple targeted enforcement operations against illegally imported e-cigarettes in coordination with US Customs and Border Protection. This was in addition to other first of their kind actions across the supply chain focused on unauthorized products from non-US manufacturers, including monthly retailer blitzes against Elf Bar and other unauthorized disposable e-cigarette brands used by youth,” they said.
“The FDA and other agencies should build on these efforts and take comprehensive enforcement action against illegal e-cigarettes, particularly those popular among youth,” said the spokesperson.

US considers requiring visa bonds of up to $15,000 for certain applicants from high-risk countries
The U.S. State Department is proposing that applicants for tourist and business visas be required to post a bond of up to $15,000 to enter the country, which could make the process unaffordable for some.
In a notice posted on the Federal Register’s website and scheduled to be published on Tuesday, the State Department said it would kick off a 12-month pilot program for people from countries with high overstay rates and deficient internal document security controls to be required to post bonds of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000, when applying for a visa.
The proposal comes as President Donald Trump and his administration work to tighten requirements for visa applicants.
The department announced last week that several applicants looking to renew their visas would have to submit to an additional in-person interview, which was never required in the past.
TRUMP BANS TRAVEL TO US FROM SEVERAL COUNTRIES TO BLOCK ‘DANGEROUS FOREIGN ACTORS’
Additionally, the department proposed that applicants for the Visa Diversity Lottery have a valid passport from their country.
The bond notice was previewed on the Federal Register website on Monday and said the pilot program will not take effect within 15 days of its publication. The notice also said the program is necessary to ensure the U.S. government is not financially liable if a visitor does not comply with the visitor’s visa terms.
“Aliens applying for visas as temporary visitors for business or pleasure and who are nationals of countries identified by the department as having high visa overstay rates, where screening and vetting information is deemed deficient, or offering citizenship by investment, if the alien obtained citizenship with no residency requirement, may be subject to the pilot program,” the notice read.
Once the program takes effect, the countries affected will be listed.
The notice also notes that the bond could be waived based on individual circumstances.
Citizens of countries enrolled in the Visa Waiver Program, which provides for business travel or tourism for up to 90 days, will not be required to pay the bond.
TRUMP STATE DEPT ANNOUNCES NEW STUDENT-VISA VETTING WILL BE ONGOING PROCESS, NOT ONE-TIME CHECK
There are 42 countries enrolled in the Visa Waiver Program, which includes countries from Europe and the Middle East.
While visa bonds have been proposed in the past, they have never been implemented.
Reasons the bonds have never been implemented include potential misperceptions by the public, and the argument that the process of posting and discharging the bond could become burdensome.
A spokesperson for the State Department told Fox News Digital the Visa Bond Pilot is consistent with Executive Order 141598, which Trump signed to protect the American people from an invasion.
The spokesperson noted that the pilot reinforces the administration’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws in the U.S. and safeguarding national security.
As for the list of countries, it may be updated from time-to-time, the spokesperson added.
